Random entertainment

Ok, here are some recipes from one of my favorite blogs. I can't actually eat these because I can't eat wheat, but they look adorable and I think it'd be so fun to have them sitting out at my apartment for guests or to give away wrapped in a cutesy bag in the shape of a candy corn....yes?!?!candy corn cookies. Ok, and I can't eat these either because of wheat, but they look SOOO good, better believe next party I'm in charge of a dessert these will be coming with me peanut butter chocolate mound bars. Haha weird I actually find this entertaining looking up things I could bake and how I would present it? Yes, but who cares haha

Marriage Proposal - Jason Min

ok, I'm such a girl.... My roomie, Kate the great, showed me this video and we all screamed like little girls! This is adorable and I can't wait for that day!!! Oh, Love haha

As of Late and Cold Tears

Last weekend my family and I ventured up to Park City for an extended weekend to celebrate my Mom's birthday and it was UEA!!! Wahoo!!!! Wait, colleges don't honor holidays that you look forward to when you're in grade school?! Don't fret, I gave myself the holiday anyway :) Our weekend consisted of much laughing, eating, spa-ing, hot tubbing, laying out (don't worry I was so cold that I wrapped myself in one of those spa bathrobes and just let my face get tan- but it didn't so all of my patience wasn't really for anything. Oh well, I guess there are more important things in life ;)
Anyway, I'm so grateful for my sweet family that was willing to bring us all to PC. It was such a nice getaway. The below picture is of me and my little sister. Guess how old she is.... wrong. She is 13! Too bad people could easily guess that she's older because she's half a foot taller and looks older- oh well haha.

On a different note, Utah is FREEZING!!! It was so cold today that tears started coming out of my eyes just because of the cold (Hence the title)! Below is a picture of our flag football team. We had a game last night and I wore four layers of shirts/jackets and was still so cold!!! But hey, at least we had fun and got to play!
Anyway, I'm really hungry and need to go eat my cafe rio. Bye

Oh the Roller Coaster of life...

I've always heard this term, but never really thought about it until today. First off, I love roller coasters- I love the butterflies as you go up and down and the excitement it creates. Would the highs and circles of roller coasters really be as fun without the steep drops and if it never really went low? Of course not... Obviously it's the same with life. Pause... I know I sound super cheesy in saying all of this, but I really do believe it.
Anyway, this past week has been so emotionally draining, but also so emotionally uplifting. I have felt sad, stressed, and upset along with comforted, peaceful, and ecstatic. About a week and a half ago I said to a roommate- life is so unbelievably perfect right now that it makes me a little nervous- I really hope nothing goes wrong- however, I realized I was so wrong in this statement. I need to embrace things going wrong because it means that is all the more opportunity for me to be all the more happy and grow even more.

Trials are something to be grateful for because they bring us so much closer to God. Some things are not appropriate to share with friends or you feel would be a little annoying to them, therefore, who better to talk to than God? There is no time limit or office hours of when we are aloud to talk to Him. He is truly the only person who can understand and has  pure love and support for us in what is going on.
However, with a bit of a rocky week, came so many blessings and fantastic things! First off, Saturday and Sunday were general conference. For these two days, we get the privilege of listening to authorities of the church give us advice that helps us to live life to the fullest and be happier than we ever could have imagined. https://lds.org/general-conference/2011/10/waiting-upon-the-lord-thy-will-be-done?lang=eng.  There is the link to one of my favorite talks given over the weekend. The whole two days were so inspiring and made me want to try so much harder.
Second off, I get to spend all day, every day with some of my favorite people in the world!!! My roommates! They are some of the best girls I know and am so grateful for them.
Also, even though it was a bit of a stressful week with school, I am so grateful for that stress because it means I am being pushed to my limits, which means I will get stronger and smarter! I love school and am so grateful to attend BYU.
So many other great things happened, but I am a little tired so I'm going to sleep, but the main point is just that I am so grateful for the opportunities we have to embrace life. :)
Ps: I will upload pictures as soon as I figure out how haha

Marathon recap

Well, I ran my first marathon two weeks ago! and guess what... I placed 3rd in my age category!! But of course I think there were only four of us in my age category ;) I ran it super slow and easy, but that was ny plan. My first marathon was merely to know I was able to run 26.2 miles and to break that mental barrier, next is speed work and eventually qualifying for the Boston marathon and hopefully being sponsored one day :)
It was such a great experience! My sweet brother and dad drove me up there, my dad bought me all my pre-race food, books to listen to on the run, and of course, a fantastic pasta dinner the night before! Not going to lie... I reared up a little at the finish line. As cheesy as it sounds, it was a very symbolic experience for me. There are so many goals in my life that seem so far-fetched, yet they're so deeply engrained in me that i know they are possible. When I finished, all of those dreams became more of a reality and I realized if I could have the discipline to train for this, I could work at anything I wanted! This was one of the best experiences ive ever had! I cannot wait for more! :)

Minnesota!

Well all! The Morgan Marathon is next Saturday! I can't wait!! I ran my last long run last week- 20 miles and it felt great! I listened to a whole book- "the gift" by Richard Paul Evans- it was so good and made me tear up a bit at the end which prob looked a little funny coming back from a run!!! My parents talked me in to coming on vacation to visit my brother in Minnesota with them and boy was it a fantastic choice!!! Once I figure out how to post pictures and videos I will, but let's just say it's been full of good books, laughing with family until your stomach hurts, fun movies, excellent running opportunities and last but not least delicious food!!
I just finished my first book of the trip yesterday! The Shadow of a Quarter Moon. This book is seriously one of the most thought-provoking, influential books I have ever read! I would highly recommend it! I better go run before dinner but more of the trip surely to come!!

Fantastic weekend and I love love summer!!

What a fun weekend! I nannied Friday and Saturday night. First off, can I just say how blessed I feel to have a job that I LOVE?! I literally count down the days and hours until I get to go! It's like getting payed to play house and hang out with the coolest kids! It always makes me so very excited to be a mom. I love even the "mundane" things such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. It's one of the areas of life that really pays off. Every little thing improves either myself as a nanny (and as a mom someday) or improves the home to make it a better atmosphere. There is not anything I would ever trade about nannying and no family I would ever trade the families I currently nanny for.

So, first, Friday night, one of the girls and I made up the most delicious brownies!!! Ready?.... first you get brownie mix (better made from scratch but we didn't want to take the time), and add marshmallows and cream cheese to batter (substitute for 1/2 of the butter), then put them in two bread pans so they are thicker than usual brownies, then bake for the instructed time on the box. In the meantime, make cream cheese frosting (the recipe off food network is really good), and add nutella to it. Allow the brownies to cool, spread a thick layer of frosting, then add mini chocolate chips= wonderful!!!

Saturday I had a great time nannying, then I got off at 9, so I went home and hung out with pops (my mom is out of town with my little sister, so it was just a Daddy/daughter night), so we watched a movie, of course ate some popcorn and chatted it up.

Ok, now we can move on...Pretty sure summer is the greatest season (although I think that about all the seasons). Tonight we had FHE and it was a blast, then we came home and played ultimate frisbee, then soccer, then volleyball, then yogurt land, then just dance (which I lost at 3 X- I don't want to talk about it). Then as if that wasn't already a most perfect summer night, I got to ride in my roomies sweet convertible. I love summer. This week is finals week. I have loved this semester at BYU, but I am also excited for it to be done and get to just enjoy my summer (although I will be working full time). Anyway, life is perfect.
